The Leadership Program is for students wishing to take their training to the next level, setting their goal on becoming an ATA Certified Instructor.


The Leadership Program is designed to transform students into exceptional leaders as ATA Certified Instructors. Martial arts prowess is essential, of course, but that alone is not enough. With practice you will learn to know people. You will learn to speak and listen. You will learn the skills to manage, master and lead. The excellent teacher that you can become through this program will command powerful skills and qualities useful throughout your life.


Before becoming certified, ATA students spend two to three years as an Instructor Trainee during which time you are required to teach at least 300 hours under the supervision of a senior instructor. Certified Instructors are also required to earn certification in CPR and Youth Protection, and must pass a criminal background check.


Levels of Certification

  1. • Junior Trainee: Red/White/Blue Collar

  2. • Instructor Trainee: Red Collar

  3. • Certified Trainer: Red/Black Collar

  4. • Specialty Trainer: Black/Red/Black Collar

  5. • Certified Instructor: Black Collar
